Arsenal v WHU 1-0
Analysis shows the Hammers have been the worst affected in points terms by VAR with seven points lost this season by VAR decisions.
West Ham’s away performance at the Emirates against Arsenal had been set up brilliantly by David Moyes. They created enough chances themselves to win the game, but were hard done by when they conceded that one odd goal that meant another chance to move up the table was squandered.
Arsenal’s goal was first ruled out for offside by the assistant, but then her decision was overturned after a long period of checking it by the VAR. In the end West Ham, having been by far the better team, lost 1-0 and remain 16th in 27 points, as all the teams around the Hammers also lost their games or are yet to play this round (Aston Villa).
West Ham’s latest games:
Liverpool v WHU 3-2
West Ham v Southampton 3-1 (David Moyes’s second win)
Arsenal v West Ham 1-0
