Begin And End With Worship

Psalm 150
1 Praise the Lord.
Praise God in his sanctuary;
praise him in his mighty heavens.
2 Praise him for his acts of power;
praise him for his surpassing greatness.
3 Praise him with the sounding of the trumpet,
praise him with the harp and lyre,
4 praise him with timbrel and dancing,
praise him with the strings and pipe,
5 praise him with the clash of cymbals,
praise him with resounding cymbals.
6 Let everything that has breath praise the Lord.
Praise the Lord.

From Nicky Gumble, Bible in One Year:
In the end, Godâs âservants will offer God service â worshipping, theyâll look on his face, their foreheads mirroring Godâ (Revelation 22:3, MSG). Our response to seeing God face to face will be eternal worship.
The book of Psalms ends with âHallelujahâ, translated here âPraise the Lordâ (Psalm 150:6b). Psalm 150 itself begins and ends with âHallelujahâ (âPraise the Lordâ, vv.1,6). All of us are called to worship: âLet every living, breathing creature praise God!â (v.6, MSG).
- Worship everywhere The worship of God should fill the universe: âPraise God in his holy house of worship, praise him under the open skiesâ (v.1b, MSG).
- Worship him for everything Praise God for who he is (âhis surpassing greatnessâ) and what he has done (âhis acts of powerâ, v.2).
- Worship in every way Praise God with everything you have, including every type of music and dancing (vv.3â5).

Prayer
đđť Lord, I praise you for your surpassing greatness and your acts of power. I worship you as the creator of the entire universe, yet you love me personally.
Happy new year!
Ending 2021 In Style
West Ham United saw out 2021 in style, recovering from conceding early to thrash Watford 4-1 at Vicarage Road on Tuesday. West Hamâs victory at Watford was not just the perfect way for the Hammers to end 2021, but the climax of a record-breaking year for the Club. (WHUFC)

TomĂĄĹĄ SouÄek and SaĂŻd Benrahma scored within two first half minutes of one another to turn the game on its head following Emmanuel Dennis’ beautiful opener for the hosts.
The Hammers kept their foot on the gas after the break and scored further goals through Mark Noble (penalty) and Nikola VlaĹĄiÄ to set the seal on a fantastic away day on which in-form Jarrod Bowen put in another Man of the Match performance. The brilliant right winger played his part in three of his teamâs four goals at Watford, assisting TomĂĄĹĄ SouÄekâs equaliser, winning the penalty converted by Mark Noble for the Hammersâ third, then crossing Nikola VlaĹĄiÄ to net a late fourth.
It was the latest in a series of virtuoso performances from Bowen, who turned 25 in the week before Christmas and is now up to eight assists and five goals for West Ham this season. Only Mohamed Salah has achieved more goal creating actions than Jarrod Bowen in the Premier League this campaign (đđ˛, @pitchfooty). It could have been six goals, too, had referee Darren England not ruled out his second half strike for a foul by SouÄek following a VAR review.
And by the way: âMr. West Hamâ Mark Noble is the only player in the Premier League to score in each calendar year from 2007 to 2021!

Record breaking year 2021
The Irons collected more points (73), recorded more victories (22) and scored more goals (73) in the Premier League than in any previous calendar year.
Only four clubs won more games and scored more points and only three scored more goals than West Ham did in 2021, illustrating the improvements made in manager David Moyesâ second year in charge since returning to east London on 29 December 2019.
By contrast, in the 12 months prior to Moyesâ return, the Hammers won just 12 Premier League matches, collected just 44 points and scored just 46 goals.

When you factor in the UEFA Europa League and two domestic cup competitions, West Ham have played 53 times in 2021, winning 29, drawing nine and losing just 15, scored 91 goals and conceded only 57 for a +34 goal difference.
Come on you Irons!

The Queenâs Christmas Speech
âIn the birth of a child, there is a new dawn with endless potential. It is this simplicity of the Christmas story that makes it so universally appealing. Simple happenings have formed the starting point of the life of Jesus, a man whose teachings have been handed down from generation to generation and have been the bedrock of my faith.
His birth marked a new beginning. As the carol says: The hopes and fears of all the years are met in thee tonight.â

Church At Home

Hammers Out Of League Cup
The Hammers put in a positive performance and arguably provided the majority of the attacking thrust in their quarterfinal game of the League Cup against Tottenham, seeking their first berth in the semi-finals since 2013/14, when they had also played Tottenham in the fifth round.
But different from the match on 18 December 2013, when Sam Allardyce’s Hammers, courtesy of goals from Matt Jarvis (80) and Modibo Maiga (85), came from behind to win 2-1 and proceeded to the semifinals, this time David Moyes’ team came out on the wrong end of a madcap quickfire exchange of goals midway through the first half: Steven Bergwijn side-footed the hosts ahead (29), Jarrod Bowen turned and finished neatly for the Hammers moments later (32) – and, almost immediately afterwards, Lucas Moura restored the hosts’ advantage from close range (34).
West Ham toiled and fought for a route back into the tie in a tighter second half, but came up against Tottenham goalkeeper Hugo Lloris in inspired form, and ultimately could not find a second equaliser.
Hence, unfortunately David Moyes couldn’t match the League Cup quarterfinal success of his predecessors Avram Grant (2010) and “Big Sam” (2013) and still has to wait for his first semifinal with the Irons. With his former club Everton, the Scotsman has made it to a cup final once: in 2009 the Toffees were runners-up in the FA Cup, losing 1-2 to Chelsea in the final.

Best Place To Spend Christmas?
Things change quickly in these times of Corona. On 4 December, The Telegraph said that England was maybe “the best place to spend Christmas“.
Today Austria has declared UK, Denmark, Norway and the Netherlands “high-risk areas” which means that from 25 December those entering Austria from these countries must be quarantined if they are not triple vaccinated and have a negative PCR test.
Merry Christmas to everyone. Stay at home and stay safe!
Umfrage: alles wurscht

Aston Villa vs. Burnley sollte stattfinden, mal sehen …
