Ahead of the start of the new Premier League season on Saturday The Telegraph has ranked the new shirts of the twenty clubs which commence to fight for goals and points just six weeks after the end of last season.
“It’s rash to read too much into football shirts,” Thom Gibbs writes. “Fun, too. But there’s a clear and important message being delivered by this year’s slate of new Premier League kits: everything is broken.”
“How else to explain this sudden outbreak of violent graphic design, the likes of which hasn’t been seen since Jorge Campos was making his own goalkeeper shirts with crayons, highlighters and old pieces of felt?”
And that’s what he had to see about West Ham’s new – and traditional – claret and blue strip:

Yes, I said I couldn’t separate Villa and Burnley. No, this isn’t just the same as those. Scroll up, look again at how bored those make you feel, scroll down, look again at how warm this makes you feel. Now have a stern word with yourself. You’ve let yourself down.
