This was only WHU‘s second away win on a Holy Saturday since 2007 when the Hammers beat Arsenal. Sixteen years ago West Ham‘s win over Arsenal was the Gunners‘ first home defeat at their new Emirates Stadium and part of the Irons’ “great escape” when they avoided relegation under the tenure of Alan Curbishley and thanks to Carlos Tevez’s (and Bobby Zamora’s) goals!
West Ham host Arsenal at London Stadium next Sunday. On Thursday the Hammers travel to Gent.
