Sir Keir Starmer was invited by the King to form a new government
Labour has won a big majority of seats in the House of Commons in the July 4th general election. Great Britain voted for change and put paid to 14 years of Tory majority.
The new prime minister and his wife Victoria were greeted by Downing Street number 10 staff
Labour won 34% of total votes cast (only 1.8 percentage higher than in 2019), but will hold around 63% of the 650 seats in the House of Commons. Together, Britain‘s smaller parties won more than 40 percent of the votes, but gained only 17 percent of seats in the parliament.
