Austria out, but Verena won

On Sunday Austria didn’t succeed in their attempt to get promoted to Group A of the Nations League via the play-offs …
… but Austrian defender Verena Hanshaw celebrated a 2-0 derby win over Tottenham in the English Women’s Super League.

On her strike in the 16th minute, Verena said: “At first I thought I didn’t hit the ball that well, and I thought, ‘Oh, Verena!’ But then I saw it got deflected, and it was in the goal, and I was just so happy.”
