WHU move clear of danger

Have West Ham finally turned the corner? Did it eventually click with this team after months in which the engine of David Moyes’s Hammers has stuttered?
With only one defeat out of the last 10 games (including four European matches), moving six points away from the relegation zone of the Premier League, reaching the semifinals of the Conference League and celebrating an emphatic 4-0 win away at Bournemouth, present and future suddenly look much brighter at West Ham.

The Hammers trashing Bournemouth 4-0 at the Cherries’ Vitality Stadium by courtesy of goals from:

  • Antonio (5′)
  • Lucas Paquetá(12′)
  • Rice (43′)and
  • Fornals (with a scorpion kick, 72′)

and Newcastle humiliating Spurs (5-1) – these have really been pleasing results on the Sunday!

And this has been a very enjoyable whole week, too: the draw against leaders Arsenal last Sunday when West Ham came back from two goals down, and then two impressive wins within four days with eight goals scored – and progressing to the semifinal of the Conference League – seem to have suddenly changed this season to the better! Confidence is back and an 11th or 12th placed finish in the Premier League is not out of reach now, not to mention the prospect of a European final!
Come on you Irons! Happy Hammers all around, and David Moyes who has been backed by the Board despite all the troubles and disappointments of this Premier League season finally has got back some smile on his face.

Finally something has changed within West Ham, Claret & Hugh writes:

West Ham were magnificent at Bournemouth and thoroughly outclassed a team that has recently beaten Liverpool, Fulham, Leicester City and Spurs. The Irons have gone from an ultra defensive outfit to one that looks threatening every time it counter attacks and that is something that has almost happened overnight.

Lucas Paqueta looks a game changer at last and the likes of Bowen, Antonio, Rice, Coufal, Zouma and even Soucek look top players again in this new approach.

So be it the manager, players or both, that have brought about this revival: both sides seem to have come together to decide on this exciting new approach which sparked new confidence and brought our West Ham back again!
