New Chapter
The current manager Nuno Espírito Santo has remained at West Ham despite relegation and will try to do the same he already did at Wolverhampton some seasons ago – to lead the Hammers back to the Premiership at the first try. There will be a new man though at a key role, being responsible for recruiting the players to achieve this task in one of the toughest leagues in the world: Nils Koppen was appointed the Club’s new Director of Player Recruitment.
The 41-year-old Belgian will join West Ham United from his position as Technical Director at Danish Club FC Copenhagen, where he led the identification and recruitment of all new playing talent. Prior to that role he held similar positions at Rangers in Scotland and Dutch side PSV Eindhoven.
Koppen will begin work at West Ham United as part of a new football leadership structure for the men’s team, tasked with identifying and recruiting the players needed to secure an immediate return to the Premier League.
