New unrest at West Ham

It is reported that the Gold family has agreed to sell their 25.1 % West Ham stake to an Amanda Staveley led consortium, prompting Daniel Kretinsky (who is currently owning 27 % and had agreed a memorandum of understanding with the Gold family in June when West Ham was plunged into turmoil over allegations surrounding former co-chairman David Sullivan) that he is reviewing “all options, including exercising our pre-emption rights in full.”

Amanda Staveley and her husband Mehrdad Ghodoussi sold their shares in Newcastle two years ago

Kretinsky is of the opinion that pre-emption rights allow him – and also major shareholder David Sullivan – to bid for Gold’s shares, and then any remaining ones. According to BBC this process could take two months.

This seem to be no good news in this crucial time before the season starts and transfer decisions have to be made!
